Durga is a single mother of 2 and has faced many struggles in life. But she has transformed her life by completing a course on Sales Associates and Retailers and is now self-employed, running “Grahak Seva Kendra – Customer Service Point (CSP under SBI)” in Jaitaran where she helps customers to make small transactions. From this, she gets a commission and is currently earning between ₹ 30000 – ₹ 35000 per month. Moreover, she is able to finance her own education and pursuing her degree in Arts, presently she is in 2nd year of B.A.

Idrish Joshi, who lost both his arms in an accident at the age of six, has developed a standing in the community and his own independence thanks to his small shop, where he helps community members with computer work and documentation – dreaming of expanding into photocopying soon to take his profits from Rs. 3000 per month to Rs. 8000!

Born and raised in Barmer, Rajasthan, he only studied to grade 6 due to the family’s financial difficulties and the lack of opportunity in the remote community. He started working in the steel trade as a daily wage labourer and faced several failures before he heard of SEDI and decided to study Automobile Repair. In 2015 he started his business, ‘Panwar Auto Parts, Repairing & Service Centre’ in Barmer, which soon expanded into 2 centres. Today he supports his wife and 5 daughters by earning 1-1.2lakh per month from the 4-year-old enterprise – and provides employment to 2 others in the community.
